Sand Riders

I have a collection of acrylic paint that I want to use up and be done with, so I thought it would be a great way to get back into painting without having to "take it seriously". It's one of those things I guess. This isn't a study of John Schoenherr, but his stuff was in my mind, especially the red in the mouth.

My First Week at Letter Art!

The last week was crazy in San Diego County. First, a sudden tropical rain storm, next an unbelievable heat wave (106 degrees), then a massive multi-state/international electricity black-out. While all this was going on I was busy trying out a different type of art at work. Yeah, I only sold four of these so far, and this is all of them in chronological order. After drawing caricatures everyday for 5 years, doing this made me feel like it was my first day all over again with that certain anxiety you'd be familiar with if you've done this line of work. I had so much fun and definitely surprised myself with what I came up with. I hope my latest one, "Hudson" was as well received by the customer. It was the only one I wasn't able to see their reaction to it, so I hope it doesn't end up back at Guest Services... wherever you are, lady, I swear I did my best!

Thanks, Winnie, for showing me how it's done! YAAH!
